Alfred Alfers from Amsterdam will be competing in 15m Class. His home club is Amsterdam Club for Gliders (ACVZ) and is currently number 303 in the IGC Ranking. He has competed in several Dutch National Championships as well as German, Belgian and European championships. He represented Netherlands at the Worlds in Argentina in 2013 and at Räyskälä in 2014. Alfred has also flown in Australia with Ingo Renner

Joining Alfred in 15m Class will be Ronald Termaat. A very experienced pilot, Ronald’s first WGC was Lillo, Spain in 2000. Since then he has flown in numerous WGCs including Poland in 2014, and in European, South African and Dutch championships. He is 51 years old and flies with the Gelderse Zweefvliegclub (GeZC) near his home town of Arnhem. He is currently in ranking position 93.

18m Class will be flown by Steven Raimond and Maurits Dortu. Steven is also highly experienced and flew his first Worlds at Bayreuth in 1999. He has flown in numerous WGCs, European and Dutch championships, and also competed in the Klix International Gliding Cup in Germany neat the Czech and Polish border, International Issoudun Open in France, Pribina Cup in Slovakia and other European competitions. Steven is 52 and is a pilot for KLM.

Maurits, 44 years old, is also an airline pilot. His home club is Gelderse Zweedvliegclub and he is currently ranked 504 in the world. His best result to date was 3rd in the COPPA CITTA' di RIETI 2012. He flew in the WGC Hungary in 2010, the European Championships 2011, numerous Dutch Nationals, Issoudun, Slovenian, South African and Belgian Nationals and the 2018 Concours International de Bailleau France. Maurits will be competing in the Sailplane Grand Prix at Musbach, Germany in August.

Jeroen Verkuijl will enter in Open Class and will join Maurits at Musbach for the SPG in August. Ranked 87, his club is ZC Rotterdam. He finished 3rd in the 2015 European Gliding Championship in Open Class. He flew the 2014 Worlds at Leszno, the flapped Pre-Worlds at Uvalde, Pribina, Klix and various South African, Belgian and Dutch championships. He competed in the WGC Argentina 2013 and the 3rd South American Gliding Championships and 59th Argentine Nationals in 2012. For our non European readers who may not be familiar with all of these competitions I should also mention Viking Glidein Sewden 2011 and Hahnweide in April where he flew in 18m.

The second pilot in Open Class will be 48 year old Mark Wering who lives in Dorset, England and is a member of Lasham GC. Also an airline pilot, he was the 2014 Dutch Champion in Open Class. He took part in the international Klippeneck soaring competition 2015 and has competed in several Dutch and Belgian Nationals and the European Championships 2011.
